Date Gardens On The Desert
This is a Curt Teich Art-Colortone vintage postcard from 1943. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where or when my grandparents purchased this postcard. It wasn't included in my grandparents' 1952 scrapbook which documented their trip across the United States that summer.
But it is quite interesting. It actually looks like some kind of date tree farm with all of those neatly planted rows of date palm trees.

Elsie And Beauregard In Person
This postcard features Elsie and Beauregard. Who are they you ask? Elsie has been the symbol for Borden Dairy Products since 1938. Beauregard is one of her offspring. Elsie has been an amazingly popular advertising icon for years. She even has her own Facebook page! And did you know that Elsie’s husband, Elmer the Bull, is the mascot for Elmer's Glue?
Here’s the transcription from the back of the postcard (it’s really quite clever) ~
“Elsie is in her spool bed and young Beauregard in his corral playpen. The barn colonial boudoir is complete with barrel chair, butter churn lamp and barnyard clock. Elsie’s dressing table, made of a tree trunk, has a mirror directly above it made from the radiator of a 1910 Ford. Her toiletries include Tail Wave Set, Henna Fur Glaze and Meadow Mud Pack. Beauregard’s rocking horse has a bridle made of rope and a real western saddle. Elsie’s bookcase contains such volumes as, The Farmer With Cold Hands, Animal Husbandry and Bulliver’s Travels.”Thanks for stopping by!

Iguacu Falls ~ A Wonder of Brazilian Nature
This Varig Airlines advertising postcard shows the amazingly beautiful Iguacu Falls, which is on the border of Brazil and Argentina. The postcard was printed in Brazil, but I believe my grandparents purchased it in San Francisco because this stamp (below) was printed on another of their Varig Airlines advertising postcards in their collection.
To give you a sense of the beauty and magnificence of Iguacu Falls, I've included a couple photos of these gorgeous falls.

Watermelons For Sale ~ Trinidad, B.W.I.
This vintage postcard from my grandparents' collection is a Tichnor Brothers, Inc. Postcard showing a scene in Trinidad.
My maternal grandparents and their family immigrated to the United States from Brazil in July of 1952. They traveled on the ocean liner The S.S. Brazil. Trinidad was one of the ports of call on their ocean voyage. The photo below was taken during their port of call in Trinidad.
