This is the second Las Vegas vintage postcard that I've shared here on this blog. It shows The Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The manufacturer of this postcard is Plastichrome by Colourpicture Publishers, Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts. It was published by the Las Vegas News Agency in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This postcard was in my Grandpa Debs Webster's scrapbook from 1952. The scrapbook held many photos and postcards from my grandparents' immigration trip from Brazil to the United States in 1952. The family visited Utah and must have stopped in Las Vegas on their way to California.
Description on back of postcard:
THE TROPICANA HOTEL,LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
This sparkling half-circle pool is a green oasis in this fabulous desert resort hotel – one of the NEWEST, LARGEST and MOST LUXURIOUS SPOTS in this city of magnificent hotels – now the convention capital of the world.
Thanks for stopping by!

That really does look like an oasis in the desert. So exotic. I can see why guests would love staying there.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that desert out there in the postcard too. I'll bet it doesn't look like that now. It's probably full of buildings and streets. =)
